I Heart WI Public School Teachers!!

Do we want a mass exodus of qualified, dedicated public school teachers?!?!

Who do we want educating our children?!

There is no future, there is no democracy, there is no economy without a quality public school system.

Wisconsin Public Employees Rock My World!!!

Even More Power to WI Public Employees!!!

Everyone was referring to Governor Scott Walker as Governor Scott Mubarak.

More Power to WI Teachers and Unions and all Public Employees!!!

I love these folks!!

I was inspired.

Power to the Teachers and the Unions!!

Scott Walker is the devil.

He is trying to strip public unions in WI of their collective bargaining rights.

He is trying to make it illegal for public employees to strike.

He is trying to strip his political opponents of their healthcare benefits.

He should be ashamed of himself.

He should be embarrassed.

I am embarrassed for him.

But, it was amazing to see so many people come out today to the WI State Capitol to pledge to fight this for as long as it takes.

It warms the cockles of my heart.

Enjoy the pics.

Ni Putes Ni Soumises (Neither Whores Nor Submissives) is Awesome!!

I am having Ni Putes Ni Soumises withdrawal.

If you have been reading my blog posts for the past couple of years, then you will be well aware that Ni Putes Ni Soumises (Neither Whores Nor Submissives) is a completely awesome international human rights organization based in Paris, France, which fights on behalf of women's rights as universal human rights without compromise and advocates for secularism, gender equality, and gender desegregation.

I love my amazing, uncompromising, bold, and unapologetic French feminists, and I miss them so much.

That reminds me -- I have to, have to get my policy report on the research I conducted while in France done this weekend.  And, I'm off.

(The lovely and wonderful and brilliant and amazing Aileen took this pic in Paris about a year ago.)

Renaissance Woman

I have spent the past year of my life almost exclusively mourning my beloved baby brother, Jacob.

I have honored his life in the best way I know.

I have been living with ghosts and grief and sad memories of a broken little girl.

It is time to return to the land of the living.

It is time for a renaissance.

I can't wait to go back to school and remake myself anew.

But, no matter what, I will always love you, Jacob.

I will dedicate everything I write, everything I publish, everything I accomplish to your memory.

I Left My Heart in Detroit Lakes

Rachel, Aaron, and I scattered Jacob's ashes over the graves of our ancestors in Oak Grove Cemetery in Detroit Lakes.

We will always love you, Jacob.  I almost got frost bite for you.  That's love.

Up North

I am Detroit Lakes bound to celebrate what would have been my beloved baby brother Jacob's 25th birthday with my other beloved baby brother, Aaron, and my big sis, Rachie.

We will always love you, Jacob.

With all our hearts.

The WI State Assembly Shouldn't Have a Prayer!

I am very proud of the work I've been doing with the Freedom From Religion Foundation.

Here is a press release detailing the work we've been doing to try and get the Wisconsin State Assembly to stop opening their floor sessions with unconstitutional, coercive and embarrassing legislative prayer.
